Performance Credentials.  Soprano, Lizbeth Reszel, has appeared as soloist with various civic and professional orchestras including performances of A Midsummer’s Night Dream with the St. Louis Symphony Summer Fest, Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass with the Belleville Philharmonic and a series of performances of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Leonard Slatkin and with the Grant Park Symphony in Chicago.  Other appearances include Faure’s Requiem, Messiah and Haydn’s Creation.  Ms. Reszel was also a featured soloist during the special Farewell Concert Gala commemorating Leonard Slatkin’s departure from the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra in June of 1997.

As a member of the American Opera Center in Chicago, Ms. Reszel created the title role in a new original opera production by contemporary composer Mae Cohen, Annabel, My Dear.  She has also performed as soloist and chorus member in numerous concerts with the Chicago Symphony, the Ravinia Festival Orchestra and the Grant Park Symphony.

She was a finalist in the 1987 Saint Louis Symphony Young Artists Competition and the winner of the Webster University Distinguished Graduate Award in 1987.  Ms. Reszel was the district winner of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions held in St. Louis in 1989.  She has been a professional member of many symphonic choruses and small ensembles since 1986 and has been a featured member of such groups as The Saint Louis Chamber Singers, The Bach Society of St. Louis and the short-lived, 12-member Chicago female ensemble, Skylark.  Ms. Reszel has held several professional positions with Chicago and St. Louis area churches and synagogues including Chicago Sinai Congregation and St. Vincent Ferrer Church of River Forest.

Although Ms. Reszel has focused on concert and recital repertoire, she has enjoyed an extensive background in musical theater, light opera and contemporary music, including such roles as Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Lucy in The Telephone and leading roles in My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, The Sound of Music and The King and I.
